The voice of experience on helping students succeed!
Fran Kenton began her career as a middle school teacher and counselor developing an affinity for working with at-risk and special needs populations in both traditional and alternative educational settings. She created a Transition Curriculum, and through her District’s Transition Partnership Project with the California Department of Rehabilitation, she successfully guided special needs high school students through post-high school transitions.

Most recently, Fran developed Autonome, a social emotional learning (SEL) program for teens and young adults, bringing together SEL competencies and mindfulness practices that help them develop the skills and mindset to manage their daily stressors and challenges while preparing them for a fulfilling future and an enhanced sense of wellbeing. Come learn about her research-based approach using the PERMA model and the five broad, interrelated areas of competence as outlined by the Collaborative for Academic, Social and Emotional Learning (CASEL): self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills and responsible decision making. You'll be glad you did!
