Being determined to change the culture of my classroom, I introduced gamified group work aiming to transform mathematics from a subject my students fear into one that they were willing to engage with. This article therefore reflects on that journey and explores how gamified group work transformed mathematics learning in my classroom while reaffirming my belief that every child can learn mathematics when given the right opportunities to succeed.
