"By all accounts the Generation Z students of today live in a digital reality clouded by a voyeuristic “House of Mirrors” effect that challenges their experience of authentic personal interaction. Dr. Tramantano addresses this new age phenomenon as her powerful insights provide a roadmap with practical precepts for both students and parents."  -Dr. Bart Linehan

In CONNECT: A Framework for Thriving in High School to College and Beyond, Dr. Johanna David-Tramantano provides supports for educators in proactively meeting student needs by translating research on executive functioning, transition readiness, and college-level academic expectations into aligned instructional and system-wide practices.

CONNECT introduces a shared framework that enables educators to create coherent instructional and system-wide practices, bringing instruction, advising, and family communication into alignment around student success. Across her career, Johanna has witnessed how much parents and guardians care about their children's future and recognize the importance of education. They possess a skill set that is often undervalued in society. We need to prioritize understanding our families’ strengths, something the system does not always accommodate. Our parents bring so much cultural, linguistic, and world knowledge we should capitalize on.

Many districts have parent academies and workshops, which are important for teaching parents. But where are the opportunities for parents to teach us about the values they instill in their children, their cultural identity, and the rich fabric of their value system? These elements have played a significant role in raising their children to become incredible young adults.

Whatever your role in the school community, Johanna's CONNECT model provides new insights, understandings and strategies for serving the students of today and the leaders of tomorrow!
